RMACD- Mastering the Pencil

First project. We had to choose a fruit and make it into a circus performer.

Second project. We had to choose two objects to create a story. I chose two flowers (of course!) that were fighting in their flower pot. The one in the pot got so fed up with the other flower taking all the sun that she pushed him out of the pot with a sassy pose.

Third project. We had to make a story for a suit case. I made mine a character named Jimmy who loves his grandmother because she makes him the best food in the world.
New and finished photo to come.

Fourth project. Sequence photo to show how things change throughout the day. The story behind this (starting from bottom right and ending top right) is a girl is waking up, goes through her schedule for the day and remembers she has a hot date and gets super excited, she puts her make up on, gets a phone call from the guy who stands her up and she cries, ruining her makeup.

Last project. We were given a word by our professor and we had to create our own definition for the word without knowing the true one. My word was teleran. My definition: a girl who runs away from the unwanted thoughts of the devil.

Paul Yalowitz was my professor for this course. I really enjoyed Paul's style of teaching. He pushed me to create stories behind my work as well as creating characters like the suitcase project. Usually I come up with a few ideas for my projects, but in Paul's class we did many thumbnails where I produced multiple strong ideas that I can develop in the future.

RMCAD-Digital Image Making

First project of the semester in digital image making. Cut out the thylacine animal and put them in the San Francisco environment.

Second project. We had to take a picture of ourselves, cut it down the middle and reflect it, making a "new" face because half of our face is not the same as the other. Then we had to make wanted posters to put our new faces in. I made a "good" and "bad" wanted poster.

Fourth project. Our version of heaven and hell with one of our classmates in the project.
David, my professor, paid me one of the biggest compliments I have gotten on my hell piece (on right). He said he wanted to pay me for the image so he could paint it. He loved the composition and effect I placed on the images to distort them. I was truly flattered! You?...my professor...pay me?...a college student? WHAT?
Me, being me, didn't want his money! Shoot for that compliment he could have it for free. But we decided to paint it together. When this will happen who knows, but it will! Can't pass up an opportunity like that!
Last project. To take either the heaven or hell, make metallic shapes, and add an art history painting to it. I chose Salvador Dali's painting of hands.
David suggested I enter this into a contest. I get such great feed back and compliments from him on my work!

 Fifth project.
First make a black and white "observer" in an environment. I made a lady bug and butterfly. Then we had to make four different environments in color for the creature to live in.

David Mesple was my professor for this class. David is a true inspiration. He has changed not only how I view, or produce art, but the way I think and feel about the world and everything in it. He is an amazing artist and professor. Every time David would talk about something he stretched my imagination and thoughts...blowing my mind.

RMCAD- Life Drawing

5ft by 4ft
graphite pencil on gesso board
Final project for life drawing class. The assignment was to capture a reoccurring dream and draw it "life size". I always have a dream of a normal backyard pool filled with sea creatures...creepy sea creatures. There is always a guy who is wearing scuba gear that leaves me standing at the side of the pool begging him not to go into the shark infested waters...but he does and I slowly, but surely follow him into the great unknown.

Don Fodness was my professor for this course. He stretched me and pushed me throughout the course. I produced some awesome work being pushed like that. Don paid me some awesome compliments about my work and my style of drawing. He told me about some art contests to submit my work into!
